Indian Overseas Bank

Term Deposit
  • Reinvestment Deposit  - The interest on your deposit also earns interest, You can avail loans of upto 85% on the principal and also on the interest accrued & You can close your deposit prematurely without any difficulty.
  • Fixed Deposit - The option to withdraw the deposit at any time before maturity without any difficulty, You can avail loans upto 85% of the principal, Variable deposit periods ranging from 6 months to 120 months & You get interest once in 6 months
  • Recurring Deposit  - Interest is compounded every quarter, ? Variable deposit periods ranging from 6 months to 120 months, Loans available up to 90% on the principal and also on the interest accrued, Deposit can be closed prematurely without any difficulty.
  • Gold RD - All individuals either singly or jointly. Minimum amount of deposit: Rs. 250/- and in multiples of Rs. 50 or Rs. 100 per month.
  • Education Deposit  - You can use this deposit for the higher education of your children. It is a variation of the Recurring deposit scheme. You pay a smaller instalment every month according to the period of your deposit which decreases every year.
  • Easy Deposit  - You can choose the minimum amount you want to save every month ranging from Rs. 100/- to Rs. 1,000/-. The chosen amount will be the core amount and you can deposit up to ten times of the core amount every month. The interest and your investment will be repaid at the end of a period specified by you, ranging from 6 months to 10 years. You can get a loan of up to 85% on your deposit with the accrued interest.
  • Vardhan Deposit  - Any individual who has completed 60 years of age is treated as Senior Citizen for the purpose of opening account under Vardhan scheme. 
  • Floating Rate Deposit - Any individual either singly or jointly with others, a natural / legal guardian on behalf of a minor, Hindu Undivided Families, Trusts, companies, firms are eligible to participate in the scheme.
  • Tax Saver Scheme  - In the Finance Act 2006, Section 80C of Income Tax Act 1961 was amended to include deposits placed with a scheduled bank to qualify for deduction under 80C. The amount of investment up to Rs.1,00,000 under the notified deposit scheme will be eligible for deduction under Section 80 C of Income Tax Act for individuals / Hindu Undivided Families.



Retail Loans

  • Personal Loan - You can use the loan to buy consumer goods such as electrical and electronic goods, metal and wooden furniture. Electrical and electronic goods would include items such as Computer, TV, VCR, Washing Machine, Fax Machine, etc.
  • Clean Loan - Employees in Government, Public Sector Undertakings, reputed private enterprises, firms, companies etc. and confirmed in service. The take home pay, after deduction of the proposed loan installment should be more than 50% of the gross pay. LIC agents are also eligible to apply for the loan subject to conditions.
  • Consumption Loans-Sahayika - For meeting  social financial commitments such as marriage in the family, education of children, medical treatment etc. The loan can be availed for any financial commitment with in the ambit of law. Bank will not verify the purpose declared. 
  • Jewel Loans-Alankar - The scheme is a retail loan facility for women to purchase gold/platinum jewels from reputed jewellers.
  • Travel-SubhaYatra - For travel abroad for tourism purpose or treatment or seeking employment. For travel in India for tourism purpose. For  meeting the cost of Air Ticket, cost of medical treatment and incidental expenses subject to Foreign Exchange entitlement. For travel with in India the cost of travel, Hotel accommodation, incidental expenses or charges on conducted tour by reputed tour operators. 
  • Educational Loans-VidyaJyoti - Loan is made available for Graduation/Post graduation/Diploma/Computer education in any recognized State/Central Government/University, professional courses including Engineering, Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary, Law, Dental, Management, courses like ICWA, CA, CFA, etc., courses conducted by IIM, IISC, XLRI, NIFT etc, courses offered in India by reputed foreign universities/Evening courses of approved institutes, regular degree/ diploma  courses like Aeronautical , Pilot training , shipping etc  approved by Director  General of Civil Aviation/ shipping  if  the course is pursued in India. Incase the course is pursued abroad,  the institute should be  recognized by the competent local aviation/ shipping authority.  
  • Vehicle Loans- Phushpaka - For buying a new or used car (not more than 5 years old) or new two-wheeler.
