Vijaya Bank

Vijaya Bank, a medium sized bank with presence across India was founded on 23rd October 1931 by the late Shri A.B.Shetty and other enterprising farmers in Mangalore, Karnataka in India.. The objective of the founders was essentially to promote banking habits, thrift and entrepreneurship among the farming community of Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka State. The bank became a scheduled bank in 1958.

  • Savings Bank - A Savings Bank A/c. may be opened with a minimum balance of Rs.250/- in fully computerised branches and Rs.100/- in other branches to keep the account running.
  • V Platinum Savings Bank Account - This scheme essentially aims at providing certain add-ons to the Savings Bank Customers who maintain the certain minimum balances in their accounts.
  • Vijaya Saral Savings - The Vijaya Saral Savings Account can be opened with a minimum initial deposit of Rs.10/- by using the existing deposit account opening form. The balance in the account can go below Rs.10/-. The account can continue with even zero balance.
  • Current Account - A Current Account may be opened with a minimum of Rs.1000/- in fully / partially computerised branches and Rs.500/- in other branches irrespective of the location of the branches.
  • VStar Savings Scheme - Savings bank account holders who maintain a minimum monthly balance of Rs.5,000/- during the preceding six months are eligible for  loans at concessional rates of interest.
